We are currently seeking a Senior Exterior Designer to join Alfa Romeo Design.

The Profile

The Senior Exterior Designer plays a key role in creating and evolving the brand's design language and identity. He/she manages their projects autonomously while interacting with key stakeholders such as Project Management, Engineering, Craftsmanship, Suppliers, and the Design Leadership team.
The Senior Designer is expected to deliver sketches and creative proposals at the highest level, supporting both advanced research phases and production programs. He/she contributes to defining new style concepts that align with Alfa Romeo's iconic heritage while projecting the brand into future mobility.
He/she participates in internal design competitions with proposals that reflect and reinforce the Brand's stylistic codes. The Senior Designer manages multiple projects simultaneously, leading the stylistic development from early sketches through digital or physical volume models, balancing creative vision with technical feasibility through iterative processes.

Profile

Master's degree (BAC+5) in Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Product Design, or Automotive Design.

At least 8 years of experience in Automotive Exterior Design, ideally within OEMs, premium brands, or competitors.

Proven successful experience in at least two full design programs (advanced, concept or production).

Strong ability to develop advanced creative proposals that are aligned with the Alfa Romeo Brand identity.

Excellent 2D and 3D visualization skills, including manual/digital sketching and design storytelling.

Proficiency in Blender, Alias, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other relevant design tools.

Ability to follow and contribute to both digital and physical model development (experience with clay model follow‑up is a strong asset).

Ability to define and communicate a clear design vision and integrate it effectively into the project environment.

Strong creative personality, capable of developing innovative, competitive, and appealing designs.

High awareness of automotive trends, with curiosity for broader design disciplines.

Strong relational and communication skills; ability to work effectively within an intercultural Design team.

Ability to lead design topics autonomously while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.

Excellent English level (minimum B2.1), as the role requires leading discussions and working groups in an international environment.

Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously with autonomy and accountability.

Solid understanding of the complete design process from early ideation to industrialization.

Ability to balance styling intentions with feasibility constraints through iterative collaboration with engineering and technical teams.
