Boosting systems are critical for enhancing engine performance, efficiency, and emissions control. The boosting systems DRE is responsible for the design and development of the complete engine boosting system, including turbochargers (both VGT and WG), superchargers, bypass valves and actuators. This role requires deep knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, mechanics, and materials, as well as strong collaboration skills for working with validation teams and leadership in supplier interactions.

Responsibilities
Design responsible for engine boosting systems (turbochargers, superchargers, related components).
Manage 3D models and 2D drawings, releasing them in the company database system within agreed timing.
Lead technical reviews with suppliers during sourcing activities, filling in scorecards and sharing ratings with the chief engineer.
Guide supplier interaction for system design and development.
Conduct design reviews with suppliers and other departments.
Support SQE during PPAP activities and issues resolution.
Maintain direct links with virtual validation, manufacturing, testing, labs, and suppliers to finalize components design according to standards and norms.
Ensure packaging, performance, timing, and cost targets using appropriate solutions and processes.
Responsible for APQP, DFMEA and DVP&R (Design Validation Plan & Reports) in collaboration with other technical powertrain functions and suppliers.
Apply design norms and write SOR (Statement of Requirements).
Lead discussions and meetings for field issues root cause analysis and solution identification for boosting systems.

Profile

REQUIREMENTS
•Degree in mechanical engineering and experience in engine design (minimum 3 years).
•Knowledge of combustion engine functionality and control, boosting systems (turbochargers, superchargers), fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, actuators, valves, intercoolers, and materials.
•Advanced component design and process knowledge.
•CAD usage knowledge (NX and CATIA).
•Advanced drawing dimensioning (ASME, ISO) and tolerances knowledge.
•Good knowledge of design procedure and change management (KCDS, DFMEA, CRF, CRB, etc.).
•English proficiency.
•Good Office software knowledge.
•Strong interpersonal communication, team/leadership skills/experience.

Preferred Qualifications
•Deep knowledge of boosting systems and technologies.
•Deep understanding of engine combustion and functional parameters.
•Expertise in thermos-dynamics, fluid-dynamics and manufacturing processes (casting, sintering, stamping, brazing, hydroforming, etc.).
•Experience with boosting system control strategies and integration with engine management systems.
