Description de la mission

The Quality Plant Manager (QPM) is responsible for all quality aspects within the powertrain system plant. Reporting directly to the Plant Director, with a dotted line to the Regional Customer Experience in Manufacturing Manager, the QPM leads a diverse team of quality professionals and hourly employees integrated into production and engineering processes. The QPM ensures strong partnerships with manufacturing, focusing on customer quality and safety. They represent the voice of the customer by focusing on key internal and external performance indicators. The QPM is the main point of contact for all quality-related matters involving engineering, product changes, suppliers, production, improvements, and launches.

ACTIVITIES
For serial life :
• The QPM authorizes the commercialization of each powertrain system after ensuring that:
• Each system complies with the product-process definition.
• Each system is manufactured to meet product safety and type approval requirements, fully applying internal requirements and standards defined by Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, and Homologation.
• The average production level meets the quality objectives for the model-plant pair.
• For modifications (excluding serial evolutions requiring a project structure):
• The QPM can block the implementation of a modification:
• If product-process validations are missing or unfavorable.
• If the observed production result is unsatisfactory.
For systems in mid-life:
• The QPM ensures the quality level achieved at the end of serial life is maintained, acting as a project leader with operational authority over project managers (from functions or production areas).
For launches and industrial projects:
• The QPM, through the quality launch manager, prepares for future models and the industrial quality system.
For customer defect handling:
• Manages all quality defects, coordinates actions with key stakeholders (platform team/suppliers/manufacturing/control tower) to provide solutions and improve internal and external quality indicators.
For the quality system:
• Deploys the manufacturing quality system at the site per Industrial Department guidelines and Stellantis Production Way (SPW).
• Conducts or delegates audits (e.g., hierarchical cross-audits) to verify proper application of quality procedures and system effectiveness.
• Leads quality management reviews.
• Obtains and maintains necessary certifications: ISO audits, COP.
• Coaches salaried staff on quality system deployment (Andon, 5P, PDCA, Standards, PQG, etc.).
• Manages responsiveness to quality issues (reactivity process).

Profil

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accountable for all warranty results (local and export) within 1MIS, 3MIS, 12MIS, and 24MIS.
• Responsible for resolving all customer quality issues locally and in export regions.
• Authorizes quality, compliance, and shipment of all produced powertrain systems.
• Ensures production compliance and implements processes to meet safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
• Maintains key quality indicators and achieves related objectives.
• Prepares the Quality Production System for future model launches.
• Oversees deliverables of the quality department (two pillars):
• Product Quality Engineering (PQE)
• Quality Operations (QO)
• The employee is deployed in a plant producing 50,000 to 100,000 vehicles per year.
• There is no N+1 between the cluster manager and the plant director.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
• Suppliers: Immediate reactivity, expertise, action plan support, billing disputes, escalation with supplier quality organization.
• Plant Quality Managers: Operational evolution, benchmarking, yard blocking.
• Product Development: Project or mid-life teams – milestone decisions, action plans, launch team creation within the plant.
• Customer Experience (CX): Launch and modification follow-up, quality management, system monitoring, customer quality tracking.
• Engineering (ENG): Request and follow product development activities, quality issue working groups, lessons learned tracking and escalation.
• Manufacturing/GAPE: Industrial means selection, RVCV scope evolution, technical animation, productivity, production means expertise.
• Unions: Labor, working conditions, workplace issues.
